For me, art is a journey. I'm inspired by the delicious richness of colour and the natural world around me. The tantalizing question, "what if?" has been a driving force behind many of my most favourite works.
So often I'm inspried to begin a piece because of a powerful desire to challenge myself and flood my own boundaries. My organic journey to the complete piece intrigues and fulfills me. Working through each piece is like peeling back a new layr of myself. As I paint in my music fulled loft studio, time is lost as I focus on fnding my own rhythm and bringing life to beautiful, dreamlike elements. The result is work described as having a hazy magical quality, strong emotional presence and distinct movement and flow.
With art, as with life, I don't seek perfection - simply the opportunity to challenge myself, to be daring and to do things many say shouldn't be done. Ultimately, to trust my instincts and share a bit of myself and how I see the world with my viewers.
